Railroad Structures Lights the Night in Madison, WI
November 21, 2022
Koppers Railroad Structures (KRS) employees in Madison, Wisconsin, recently came together to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)’s Light the Night (LTN) Walk in Madison.
The Walk Team was led by Kate Moser, Construction Project Accountantalong and Katelyn DiMaggio, Recruiting Coordinator. The group had great participation from office and field staff with several great events, including:
Raffles for University of Wisconsin Badger Football and Basketball tickets
Raffles and a Silent Auction including a gift certificate to the company store, Carhartt Jacket and round-trip airline ticket
This year’s top fundraiser was Sue Sallstrom, Supervisor of Field Services. Sue and her husband Jeff did an amazing job supporting this cause. Additional top fundraisers were Randy Smith, Kim Schaefer, Cathy Cremer, Jon Herbeck, Kate Moser, Matt Schmidt, Megan Stratton, Matt Roberts, Scott Tatzel, Robbie Yates, Waris Wade, Nick Beneke and Katelyn DiMaggio. Mike Tweet, VP of Railroad Structures, had the honor of being Walk Chair Emeritus.
Several KRS key vendors again participated including Coreslab Structures, Buchanan Timber, Beverly Steel and Nucor Skyline Steel. A big shout out to United Rentals, who donated the lights for the event on behalf of Railroad Structures. The lights are critical to the event and helped make for a great Walk around Warner Park. The Walk itself was very inspiring along with being very windy and brisk.
In total the Madison team's remote and field employees raised $5,000 which, combined with a corporate sponsorship, made a tremendous impact to the mission to cure blood cancer.
