Koppers Hosts Official Ribbon Cutting for Leesville, LA, Peeling + Drying Facility

In March 2024, the Leesville, Louisiana, plant began peeling and drying timber for utility poles to be treated at our Somerville, Texas, facility. Last week, Koppers Utility and Industrial Products (UIP) business held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official beginning of operations of the Leesville facility.

Koppers UIP and Operations representatives, along with the local officials from the Leesville Parish Chamber of Commerce, attended the ceremony to celebrate the new facility’s official opening.

Jim Sullivan said: “The Leesville facility is a key example of how Koppers continues to optimize our operational footprint.”

We’re thrilled to have the new facility officially online and generating more than 35 construction jobs and new full-time positions!
