Koppers Announces $100 Million Share Repurchase Program

Anticipate Strong Future Cash Flow
Enhance Shareholder Value through Flexible Capital Deployment Strategy
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Koppers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: KOP), an integrated global provider of treated wood products, wood treatment chemicals and carbon compounds, today announced that its Board of Directors approved a $100 million share repurchase program. The repurchase program has no expiration date and will replace the company's previous share repurchase program of $75 million, which was approved in November 2011 and had approximately $24.8 million remaining.
This action reflects the confidence that Koppers Board of Directors and management have in generating consistently strong future cash flow to fund a capital deployment strategy which includes the ability to return meaningful capital to shareholders over time.
Chief Financial Officer Michael Zugay said, "This action reaffirms our Board's belief in the company's growth strategy. Koppers has a strong history of value creation and a bright future with significant prospects. We are confident we have the financial strength, resiliency, and available liquidity to balance a flexible strategy that enables us to be opportunistic in where we deploy capital based upon the attractiveness of the available options at a given point in time."
Koppers is authorized to repurchase shares and will consider whether to do so from time to time, based on many factors, including market and economic conditions, applicable legal requirements, and other business considerations. The share repurchase program has no termination date and may be suspended or discontinued at any time.
