Roof Structure System
In any building the performance of the built-up roofing will be affected to some degree by all of the parts of the roof structure system as well as the inside and outside environment. Each component should be investigated for its suitability for use with each of the others.

You will find information in this manual pertaining to materials and application methods other than for built-up roofing (e.g. decking). These are offered to assist the designer in establishing their normal position in the roof structure system. They should not be construed as part of the built-up roofing membrane system, as endorsement, nor as part of the designated specifications other than to establish a suitable roofing base in the roof structure system.

Proper design, specification, positioning of system components, compliance to building codes and insurance requirements are the responsibility of the building owners, their designers/specifiers or representatives.
