Applications and Use
In all applications, the use of Koppers KOP-R Roof Insulation must be approved by the specific roof membrane manufacturer. Koppers requires that glass fiber insulation be installed as the membrane's substrate for encapsulated systems. (See General Requirements and Considerations: Insulation)

Built-Up and Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems

When KOP-R Roof Insulation is used under a gravel or smooth surfaced BUR or modified bitumen, it must be overlaid with an acceptable wood fiber, perlite or glass mineral fiber insulation in accordance with NRCA recommendations.

KOP-R Roof Insulation should be attached with FM approved fasteners. Consult your Koppers representative or refer to the FMRC Approval Guide for specific fastener requirements. Do not torch apply Modified Bitumen Membranes directly to any KOP-R Roof Insulation.

Asphalt Application

When installing KOP-R Roof Insulation in steep asphalt such as over concrete decks, sizes no larger than 4' X 4' (1.22m X 1.22m) should be used.
