Application Procedure
  1. All loose gravel must be removed from roof. If existing gravel is to be reused, it must be washed free of silt.
  2. Silt is removed with water pressure, air pressure or vacuuming. If water is used, the roof must be allowed to dry completely before proceeding.
  3. Drains are protected to prevent clogging of the drain system.
  4. After the roof is properly cleaned, all necessary repairs should be made with suitable materials.
  5. Koppers Roof Resaturant is applied evenly onto roof at the rate of seven (7) gallons (26.5L) per square. The application rate may vary with the condition of the roof. (Spray application is recommended.)
  6. Gravel or slag is applied to cover the Koppers Roof Resaturant. Gravel shall be in the 3/8 - 5/8" (10mm to 16mm) range, and must be washed. Care must be taken to avoid exceeding weight limits of the roof deck. Gravel should be applied immediately after application of resaturant.
  7. Precautions must be taken to close off air conditioning air intake ducts during summer heat-load peaks to minimize odor infiltration into occupied buildings during application.
