- Preparation . The surface to be coated should be cleaned of all loose material such as gravel, dirt, dust, rust or scale. All breaks, cracks, holes and other structural deficiencies should be repaired prior to applying the Aluminum Coating.
- Priming . Before applying Aluminum Coatings to roofs, dry or dust felts should be primed with Koppers High-Penetration Primer 452 at the rate of approximately 3/4 gallon per 100 square feet (2.8L/9.3m2). This preliminary step ensures proper adhesion of the Aluminum
Coating. Stir coating thoroughly before and occasionally during application. Apply with spray or brush.
- Curing . Allow one month curing time before application over new asphalt emulsion coated roofs. Allow three months curing time before application over new asphalt roofs and six months curing time before application over solvent containing asphalt cutback coated roofs. Do not apply over "dead level" surfaces subject to standing water.
