Koppers Facilities Win 24 National Safety Council Awards
11 Koppers Locations Achieve Perfect Record of Zero Accidents with Days Away
from Work
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Koppers Inc.
locations across the United States have been honored by the National
Safety Council (NSC) with two dozen awards for outstanding employee
safety performance in 2003.
Eleven Koppers locations earned the NSC
Perfect Record Award for 2003, completing 12 consecutive months
without an accident involving Days Away from Work. The award winning
Koppers facilities are at the following locations: Denver, Colo.,
Florence, S.C., Follansbee, W. Va., Galesburg, Ill., Harmarville,
Pa., Logansport, La., Montgomery, Ala., North Little Rock, Ark.,
Portland, Ore., Somerville, Texas and Woodward, Ala.

on intensive safety training and behavior-based safety management.
Our goal is to motivate employees to want to work safely, and to
watch out for each other," said Randall D. Collins, Vice

Another
13 Koppers locations earned the NSC's Green Cross for Safety Excellence
Achievement Award because these facilities completed 2003 with Days
Away from Work rates less than 50 percent of the Bureau of Labor
Statistics rates for the applicable Standard Industry Code. The Green
Cross award winning Koppers facilities are at the following locations:
Florence, S.C., Follansbee, W. Va., Galesburg, Ill., Grenada, Miss.,
Guthrie, Ky., Harmarville, Pa., Logansport, La., Monessen, Pa., Montgomery,
Ala., North Little Rock, Ark., Portland, Ore., Somerville, Texas
and Woodward, Ala. for Safe Workplaces.
