Koppers Board Elects Brian
H. McCurrie as CFO
PITTSBURGH, October 14, 2003 — Koppers
Inc. announced today that its board has elected Brian H. McCurrie
to the post of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective
immediately.
Mr. McCurrie, 42, came to Koppers from Union
Switch and Signal, where he also served as Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer. "We are pleased
to have Brian join our experienced senior executive team," said Walter W.
Turner,
President
and Chief Executive Officer. "We expect Brian will make immediate
and
long-term contributions to Koppers and build upon our record of strong customer
service and financial viability."

growth and viability of Koppers," Mr. McCurrie said, "and I look forward

shareholders."
As one of 11 board-elected executive officers
of Koppers, Mr. McCurrie will report
directly to Mr. Turner.
