Koppers is a leading producer of pressure treated poles for electrical
transmission structures. Our global customers include Investor Owned
Utilities, Electric Cooperatives and Municipal Power Systems.
Koppers supplies utility companies with quality Transmission Poles that are shipped
form four different plants and over ten distribution yards strategically located
throughout the United States.
Transmission Poles are produced from both Southern
Yellow Pine and Douglas fir and (depending on the species) are
treated to American Wood Preservers Association (AWPA) Standards
and customer specifications with preservatives including Creosote,
Pentachlorophenol and Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA).
Poles properly treated to American Wood Preservers Association (AWPA) and customer
specifications provide long service life for these critical electrical structures.
Throughout the years, Koppers has set the standard for quality and reliability
with programs
that measure and ensure quality from timber harvesting through
delivery of the finished product. Our Transmission Poles are in service throughout
the
world in applications as
high as 345 kV lines.
