Koppers is an industry leader in the production and treatment
of timber piling for use in foundation and marine piling applications.
Koppers supplies foundation and marine contractors with pressure
treated timber piling made primarily from Southern Yellow Pine.
All raw materials are selected in strict accordance with the American
Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard D-25 and treated
in accordance with the American Wood Preservers Association (AWPA)
Standards C-1 and C-3. As with all of our products, Koppers employs
strict quality control procedures to ensure compliance with all
industry and customer specifications.
Pressure treated timber piling provides soil and design engineers
with flexibility and cost saving opportunities to be passed on
to owners. Timber piles are routinely used to support all kinds
of structures including industrial plants, commercial and residential
buildings, highway bridges and railroad trestles. Extensive load
tests have proven that timber piles can successfully be used
to support design loads of 50 tons or more. Timber piles are
economical, easily driven and readily available from strategically
located inventories.
