Foundation waterproofing and dampproofing at the time of construction
can eliminate the problem of damaging leaks. Architects and
engineers have long realized the advantages of waterproofing
compounds
in preventing or retarding the passage of water.
Waterproofing compounds prevent water leakage
through the roof, extending the life of the internal components
and avoiding damage to the internal rooms.
There are various grades available, suitable to different
project needs. Some are free of volatile organic solvents.
Hydroshield 451 is a solvent
based asphalt mastic which is unaffected by immersion in water
either before or after curing. Hydroshield 451 is used in waterproofing
applications.
Liquid Asphalt 472 is a mineral
colloid stabilized asbestos free fibrated asphalt emulsion containing
no volatile organic compounds. Liquid Asphalt 472 is used in damp-proofing
applications.
Liquid Asphalt 480 is a mineral
colloid stabilized asphalt emulsion containing no volatile organic
solvents. Liquid Asphalt 480 is used in damp-proofing applications.
CP-Poly is a thermally spunbonded
polyester reinforced fabric used in conjunction with cold process
bituminous roofing materials.
Glasfab is an asphalt coated
inorganic woven glass fabric.
Reinforcement fabric enables waterproofing compounds
to remain stationary while being built-up to the specific quantities
desired, thus allowing the depth of material necessary to resist existing
hydrostatic pressure.
