Overview
Koppers Reinforcing Felts are an essential part of Koppers complete line of coal tar built-up roofing systems. Felts help make these the most durable of roofing systems for dead level and low slope roof decks. We offer the architectural and construction industries a series of two-coal tar built-up roofing specifications incorporating three different reinforcement felt options.

Uses
Each of these BUR specifications incorporates long lasting coal tar consisting of alternate layers of Koppers Coal Tar Roofing Pitch and Koppers Reinforcing Felts, topped with a pouring of Koppers Coal Tar into which is embedded an aggregate surfacing. Koppers offers a variety of felt products to meet various specifications:

• #15 Tarred Felt is a coal tar saturated organic fiber felt.
• Tar-Glas™ is a coal tar impregnated glass fiber ply sheet, Type I.
• Tar-Glas™ Premium is a coal tar impregnated glass fiber ply sheet, premium grade.
• Glass Fiber Felt is an asphalt impregnated glass fiber ply sheet for use in flashing and modified asphalt roof systems.
• Organic Base Sheet is an asphalt coated organic base sheet (non-perforated).
• Glass Fiber Base Sheet is an asphalt coated glass fiber base sheet type II (non-perforated).

Features
Series 200 Spec: incorporates ASTM D227 coal tar saturated organic roofing felt—the Tarred Felt that has helped provide long term durability to roofing systems for over 100 years.

Koppers also offers the 200 Series specification with a top ply of Tar-Glas for project surfacing flexibility. The designation is noted by GP (glass ply) following the specification number. This system is suitable for slopes up to 1/4 inch per foot. The Tar-Glas top ply must be applied the same day as the organic felt plies.

Koppers Tar-Glas Felts (used in Series 400 Specifications) and Premium Tar-Glas Felts (used in Series 900 Specifications) are manufactured to meet ASTM D 4990 and were developed specifically for use in Koppers Coal Tar BUR Systems.

Glass Fiber Base Sheet	Asphalt Coated Glass Fiber Base Sheet Type II (non-perforated).
